can i apply for a canadian passport without a citizenship card?
my wallet was stolen at a shopping mart, now i only have a valid bcid(British Columbia Identification Card) basically you cant own this card if you dont have a citizenship card, i was wondering what supporting documents i could bring to the passport office to let them guide me through and accepting my application. pls help me out thank you:)
From the information given in your question it sounds like your wallet was stolen while at home in Canada so the information given is based on that. As mentioned in a previous answer you need to present your citizenship card when applying for your first passport. Once you have your passport you no longer will have to bring this card with you. Assuming that this is your first passport then you will have to apply for a replacement card which, based on another answer, sounds like a long process. I would start the process immediately and enquire, at the time you apply, if there is any alternatives they can give as far as applying for a passport.
Based upon the Passport Canada website and the experience of my girlfriend when she applied, you will have to bring your Canadian Citizenship Card with you when applying for your first passport.
